Sleeping, sun and swelling
Three variables that decide how fast you look like yourself again.

Swelling follows gravity. For the first week, sleeping with the head or chest raised does more for your recovery than any cream or supplement.
Sun is the second variable. New scars and bruised skin pigment easily; three months of shade and mineral sunscreen keep them pale.
The third is salt and alcohol, both of which hold water in the tissues. Neither is forbidden, but the first two weeks go faster without them.
Recovery is mostly patience, arranged well.
